Q: Why are the burners on my gas stove slow to light?
Clogged air holes, they help pilot the spark igniter to light the gas. Clean the holes with a toothpick.

Q: Why is my oven glowing red but not heating?
You may need to replace the igniter. Most modern gas ovens and many broilers use a “glow-bar” style of igniter that glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn’t reach the proper temperature, the gas valve won’t open.

Q: Am I supposed to clean the inside of my dishwasher?
It depends. If you use the dishwasher at least twice a week, you don’t need to clean the inside. Otherwise, if it begins to get moldy inside–or if the residual water at the bottom of the dishwasher smells bad–put detergent in the soap dish and run the dishwasher empty, through a complete cycle.

Q: What the best detergent to use for your dishwasher?
Its mostly recommended to use the granular/powdered detergents, because the gels tend not to perform as well.

Q: Why are the fuzzy balls on some of my clothes?
Many synthetic clothes shed small fibers that ball up and cling to the clothes. You can remove those fluff balls with a fuzz-removing device that you can get from your local clothing materials supplier. Overloading your washer can also cause more fuzzy balls from producing.

Q: Is it really that important to level my dryer?
Of course, all appliances perform best when they are set up properly. If a dryer is not level, it can cause some components to wear out prematurely.
